He was known as Karim baba when his name was Janab Fariduddin.
His forefather was Arabs. His father Janab Usman was a merchant
in Kathiawar. He migrated to Africa where he establishes a
business empire dealing in Ivory, Rubber, Rubies and jewelry
etc. He had over two hundred shops under his sway. He married an
Arab girl.
When Karim baba was born his grandmother was a very pious and
saintly lady predicted that the boy Farid devoid of worldly
attraction and was destined for the spiritual life. As such he
was son of trust with them for his early nourishment and should
be sending to India as soon as he grows up.
At the age of seven, he was brought to HAZRAT BABA TAJUDDIN (r.a.).
His Majesty on casting a cursory glance said" THE BOY IS A
CHILD"; I will call him after wards ". After the death of his
father at the age of 11 he went straight to His Majesty (r.a.)
instead after looking a vast business left behind by his
deceased father. When appeared before His Majesty he was asked
by His Majesty to sit along with him in the Tonga. His Majesty (r.a.)
started giving him some spiritual exercises and ordered him to
go and so it on different places. His Majesty guided him to
start his career as medical practitioner and Karim Baba soon
become a "Hakim".
Many Saints included Hazrat Walay baba, Hazrat Khwaja Baba used
to stay at his residence for long periods. He used to serve them
with respect and love.
He was bestowed with Khilafat by His Majesty (r.a.) and such
thousand of people beclame his disciples in a very short period.
He was greatly closed associated for 12 years with His Majesty
and served him till His Majesty breathed his last in the year
1925. He remains in the service of His Majesty Shrine, till he
breathed his last till in year 1985.
He came to Pakistan in the year 1981. He was greeted with warm
respect where ever he went. Hundred of people became his
disciples in a short of four months stay in Pakistan. He was the
guest of Janab Mohammed Kazi Amjad Ali, were people thronged him
round the cloak. He went pay respect to Baba Farid Ganj Shaker (r.a.)
where he was given a very warm welcome. He served the Tajia
Silsila (order) for over 72 years with a helping hand kind heart
full of love for humanity.
