Hazrat Kazi Baba Syed Ali Shah Taji (r.a.) was born at Berar in
year 1892. Before his birth a saint appeared in dream of his
mother predicting that she will be blessed with a son and that
he (the saint) would be responsible to look after the child.
Hardly nursing the child for 21 month, the mother passed away.
His aunty took care of him.
After receiving education, he joined Indian Railways instead of
looking after his family estate affairs. Since childhood he was
more interested in keeping company of revered persons instead of
willing away his here over here and there. He used to visit
several Holy Shrines to pay his respect.
He paid a visit to HAZRAT BABA TAJUDDIN AULIA (r.a.) in the
company of a railway Guard Janab Mohammed Subhan. His Majesty
made him to stay for 11 days and then asked him "HAZRAT JAKO AWO"
(go and come back. Hardly had he traveled few hundred miles in
train, His Majesty (r.a.) in his dream ordered him to return
back. He took the first available train back to Nagpuri. At the
station before Nagpuri junction, he found His Majesty standing
there. He ran towards His Majesty and kissed his feet. His
Majesty gave him a small stick saying "LO HAZRAT HAMARE KHAZANE
KI CHABI" (take this key of my treasure) and go back.
His Majesty often used to ask him to say with him resign from
the service which Kazi Baba would do would do with out any
hesitation. After some interval, he used to order him to rejoin
the service. This happened many times. To the surprise of the
railway staff Baba Amjad Ali used to get back his job as and
when he wanted with out any hindrance. It seemed that railway
authorities had no other option but to restore him.
Hazrat Baba TAJUDDIN bestowed many things to Kazi Baba including
his Juba (Cloak), drinking glass, footwear, umbrella at
intervals. (These Holy articles are still in possession of his
don Mohammed Ali Taji at his residence at E-131, Durbar e Tajul-Aulia
Qasba Colony, Karachi. One day His Majesty drew on a piece of
paper a flower on each side of the paper and wrote Kazi baba's
name and gave it to Kazi baba. This used to consider as "Khikifat
Nama".
Before Hazrat Tajuddin baba (r.a.) was at his last breath, He
summoned Kazi baba who was at that time in Bombay to come along
with his family to him. His Majesty made him drink water from a
glass from which His Majesty tale a sip. He (His Majesty) also
gave Kazi baba some flowers, sweets etc. In few days He ordered
him to return back to Bombay after blessing him and his family.
After migration to Pakistan in 1947, Kazi baba (r.a.) used to
take chaddar to Nagpuri on the occasion of annul Urs mubarak of
HAZRAT BABA TAJUDDIN AULIA NAGPURI (r.a.) and stay their for
quite some time.
Baba Zaheen Shah Taji and other devotee used to visit him and
stay with him for from morning till late night. He (Kazi baba)
played an important part in the construction of Mazar of Hazrat
Yousf Shah Taji (r.a.) at Mehwa shah grave yard Karachi.
When the call from the Isha prayers was heard in the near by
Masjhid (mosque), Hazrat Kazi Baba Syed Ali Shah Taji (r.a.)
made his last journey from the earth on 15th of Rabul-Sani (28
October 1957). He was laid to rest at C-1 Area Liaquatabad
Karachi. His son and His admirers have built a big Khanquah
named as "Khanquah-e-Amjadia". His annul Urs is held followed by
Langar and Mahfil e Sama.
